SBR 1502 bales packed for export

SBR 1502 is a cold-polymerised emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber used in general-purpose and light-coloured rubber compounds. Buyers normally qualify it by producer specification, batch COA and a controlled compound trial rather than by grade name alone.

Why buyers specify SBR 1502

  • Non-staining positioning: commonly considered for light-coloured, pigmented and general mechanical rubber goods.
  • Balanced processing: suitable for conventional mixing and forming routes when the compound is adjusted to the supplied grade.
  • Abrasion-oriented applications: widely evaluated for footwear, flooring, hoses, rollers and industrial moulded parts.
  • Document-based qualification: Mooney viscosity, bound styrene, volatile matter, ash and cure behaviour should be checked using the supplier’s methods.
  • Batch control: the TDS defines the specification framework while the COA identifies the actual supplied lot.

SBR 1502 supply overview

Linwell coordinates supply from approved sources and confirms producer, origin, packaging, current availability and document set for each quotation. Exact numerical limits are taken only from the offered producer’s current TDS and batch COA.

Technical note: Published descriptions are general guidance. Final acceptance must use the offered producer’s current TDS and SDS, the actual batch COA and a controlled trial in the buyer’s formulation.

Typical applications

Footwear and flooring

Soles, heels, mats and floor products can use SBR 1502 for a practical combination of abrasion resistance, processability and colour flexibility.

Mechanical rubber goods

Hoses, seals, gaskets, rollers and moulded items may use the grade when the formulation and finished-part requirements are validated.

Blends and filled compounds

SBR 1502 can be combined with reinforcing fillers, process oils, curing systems and other rubbers to tune cost and performance.

How to select and qualify the material

Define the operating environment and the production process before comparing suppliers. A useful request includes the finished product, service conditions, current material, critical raw-material controls, trial plan and commercial quantity.

Application and qualification checklist
Decision inputWhat to provide or verifyPurpose
Mooney viscosityCompare the producer’s test method and range with the approved materialProcessing, mixing and extrusion behaviour can shift between lots
Bound styreneUse the supplier’s declared method and specificationPolymer composition influences compound behaviour and properties
Volatile matter and ashReview TDS limits and actual COA valuesIncoming consistency and contamination control
Cure responseTest in the standard recipe and in the production compoundA passing raw-material COA does not prove identical cure behaviour
Finished-part testsRepeat the tests that define your product approvalQualification must close at component level

Documents buyers should request

  • TDS: current producer specification, declared characteristics and test methods.
  • SDS: handling, storage, transport and safety information for the offered material.
  • Batch COA: reported results and lot identity for the supplied batch.
  • Origin and traceability: producer, country of origin, lot number, bale labels and packaging information.
  • Commercial confirmation: quantity, lead time, Incoterm, shipment plan and document timing.

Packaging, storage and lot control

Confirm bale weight, wrapper type, pallet pattern, shipment quantity, production lot allocation and document delivery before placing the order. On receipt, preserve labels and lot identity and follow the producer’s storage guidance.

Quality and trial guidance

Use one controlled qualification record for the sample, trial batch and first commercial lot. Record mixer conditions, addition sequence, dump temperature, cure curve and finished-part results so that future lots can be compared on the same basis.

Buyer reminder: Do not approve a substitution from a trade name or one COA value. Confirm the full specification, methods, process response and finished-part performance.

Prepare your inquiry

Send your application, current grade or producer, key specification window, trial quantity, annual demand and destination. Linwell will confirm the offered SBR 1502 source and provide the available technical documents for review.
